WANTING TO GET A START IN RADIO NEWS?
Perhaps this is your opportunity.
AIR News (Australian Independent Radio News) is again casting around for people to get involved with one of Australia's most progressive radio news services.
Some situations are voluntary, others carry a payment on a sub-contract basis.
So far 9 of our people have moved on to careers in Radio and Television, so we must be doing something right!
We are looking for people:
With good or developing news presentation skills, perhaps those involved in or recently completed a radio journalism course, or those that have been involved in the industry and just want a little "hit" of radio news to keep their skills "topped up" and to give them their "fix" of radio every week (we know how addictive the industry is).
There is no need to relocate, those selected would operate from a home studio environment.
If you have a home studio already then you're ahead of the pack, if not, we can assist you to set one up.
Presenters would use the resources of our Virtual Newsdesk which delivers all the required resources to your desktop ready for editing and presentation. It's important all have digital recording experience and understand the concept of editing, as well as the legalities of news broadcasting. It's also important that applicants have a good ear for quality and professionalism.
Roles available:
National News shifts - notably late mornings and late afternoons during the week, all shifts over the weekend. Shifts are usually no more than 3 bulletins long.
State or Territory News shifts - compiling a daily breakfast service for individual regions including the Riverina, Northern Territory, ACT, NSW, Victoria, Tasmania, WA and Sth Australia - advantage to those living in the region - 1 news service a day Mon-Fri.
Sport - We're looking for someone to join Artie Stevens as the host of morning Sport - 3 bulletins a day and to host our daily AIRSport Australia program - a full wrap of major sport of interest to all Australians.
